Kupuo' Staas: the village of Staas in Bau, Malaysia - They were one of the groups that left Kupuo Jagoi Dorod to find a new place to settle. According to locals, there were many ironwood or taas in the area. So, the founding fathers decided to name the village 'Sitaas' where 'si' means the one who is and taas after the wood which today is pronounced as just Staas. There used to be an ironwood left standing at the entrance to the village to remind people of its origin.
